There is some discussion of flight shooting in Cairo in Saracen Archery in the Comments on flight archery, pp 105-110. Sultan Baybars built the Maidan as-Sibaq in 1297. It is also known as the Maidan al-Qabaq. There were marble columns that remained there until 1378.
The Amir Sayf ed-Din Baktūt is recorded as having shot a long arrow (28.5 inches) weighing 345 grains from a 126 pound bow the distance of 636 yards in the year 1301. From the text, I get the opinion that the columns were removed or reused in 1378. It would be interesting if any Egyptian correspondents could tell us what happened to the area.

Would just like to inform that I have no problems any more with stringning my bow from sitting position.
I made a small misstake (it's odd, becouse I did not make the misstake in the beginning) that resulted in a asymetric stringed shape..
I'm not sure why I made the misstake, but I at least know what was the misstake.
So, problem solved!
