What Is An "Arrow Constant"?

This is where we discuss the bows, arrows, quivers and other hardware used in Asian archery.

What Is An "Arrow Constant"?

Post by TheAzn » Thu Aug 26, 2010 7:21 am

I have seen this term being used a few times. The thing is, I don't know what it is. All that I know is that it is 10^-4 for a 70 grams longbow arrow.

Do you know what an "Arrow Constant" is? And how do I figure out the value?

Thank you

The term "constant" makes sense only in a context. In this case you do not speak, where this term is used.
Most likely, speech about the aerodynamic factor reflecting influence of geometry of an arrow on change of its linear speed at flight. It is possible to familiarise here, for example more in detail: http://home1.fvcc.edu/~dhicketh/DiffEqn ... flight.htm (Drag force equations:) .
