These ones mostly are based on the bhutan and nagaland bows, there is a lot of trade amongst the bhuddists and border crossing between bhutan and india and if I am not mistaken the bamboo used for these bows is easily available in the markets close to the regions bordering bhutan and Nagaland, the problem is being able to identify the correct type from the lots that the sellers have piled together.
One of the greatest problems I had in India while living there was getting people to tell me what to use and how to make it for bows and generally any hunting equipment as they feared I would turn them in so to say for making poaching equipment and turning in poachers, although I am against poaching I vehnmently support the upkeep of traditional tribal and cultural practices,I believe I had made a lot of headway in telling a lot of indegineus peoples that they must stick to their ways so to say and a lot of them are,I am trying to procure a few of these bows and hope to have atleast a couple in the next year.

no not at all the bows from nagaland that I am speaking of are from eastern India from the states of nagaland, tripura and mizoram, these are the places where some of the last wild herds of water buff still remain and archery is the major recreation in these areas, the majority of the world's tea comes from these regions and the tribals are steadfast hunters as well as head hunters till date,I have a bunch of the target arrows they use sitting in storage in india and I must tell you they are really works of art, beautifuly made and very functional with conical points shaped out of sheet metal.I am not familiar with south indian bows as I have not travelled in the area.
