Dusan, The cave bow on page 7 is the smaller of the two Moshcheveya Balka bows. I believe the bow is in the Krasnador collection (inventory number 5241).

I would not be surprised if other Turkic groups had these quivers, bow cases and bows. Why not? Kazakstan is a landmass larger than Western Europe.
yes, exactly, because we have the same in historic museum in Ufa, capital of Bashkortostan. Usually, nomads had unic things, that never repeat, otherwise it means mass production, thats why i think that this stuff may be chinese origin, we know that kazakhs bought archery equipment from Bukhara, China and from bashkirs, thats why i am interested in origin of these things....ee, in Istanbul, near the panoramic museum in cultural park (outside of walls) you can find copy of this quiver in bashkirian house.

Wraping is made by stupid historicians from museum. Maybe see some of magyars modern replicas and think that this wraping looking more "real".

Bashqort; It is hard to speculate about the origin of things without handling them, which we can hardly do, so theories must do for now. The background that I have seen in Kazakh leatherwork is a group of very small circles in a single stamp punching down the background.

I saw this on items other than quivers. These items look authentic because of the unusual shape. They look just right.

Dusan, you should try to find information about the bows, the Buryat bow and this latest one. Provenience is everything if we are to learn something.

Bashqort, it does have an siyah angle and tip which remind me of Sind. Wish I could read the patterns of the cartouches. Have you seen these before? Maybe in the Grayson collection?

Dusan, very interesting pictures, especially Scythian stuff according to Greek art. What's your source? Seems to be a Russian book.
Thanks for sharing.
