I have cracks in my external wall as well as ventilators. The bees come every year looking for a nesting site. They are happy European honey bees not intending to do anyone any harm. I have never actually seen where they enter. One day some years ago, I came home from work and found dozens of bees examining my house for a possible home.
Perhaps I should build them a nest box on the outside wall and let that colony defend me from other incursions.

Yes they can become a nuisance when they nest in cavity walls. Siting an empty hive nearby may be a good idea, it will provide a suitable home away from yours, you don't have to manage the bees. A friend of mine stayed in Australia for a few years and while he was ranching he had a nest of bees in his bedroom. I love them but I don't think I'd sleep with them.

Australian native social bees are less of a problem. They are small, don't sting, have small colonies and good honey. I see them in the garden occasionally. They don't like houses as much as European honey bees.
It is getting time for my jacaranda tree to flower. I will have hundreds of honey bees scavenging nectar from fallen flowers all over my lawn. this is another danger for archery practice in the backyard. I always wear shoes and long pants during the jacaranda flower season. The bees only get annoyed if you accidentally step on them. Maybe that is why I can walk so silently and carefully.

My dad used to raise bees as a hobby and they never bothered me a bit. Wasps, on the other hand, I can't stand.
Speaking of shooting bees with an arrow, a trad archery friend (Flinger over on the LeatherWall) and his son (Bones) would tell the stories of them hunting bumble bees in an empty field. It was hilarious to listen to.
