If we do search on different methods to give an end to ones life in the history, all what we shall find may be even more terrifying ones. But the topic was the gamebowing :D . Nevertheless one of the related things is of course the fact that in the Ottoman dynasty, for a time, some princes of the royal family had been put to death by being strangled with a silk bow-string, to avoid the "nobility" of their blood be dropped down on earth.

Well, there is an exibit in the Askeri Muzeum in Istanbul showing a glass (or two, I can not remember) pierced with an arrow through the bottom. The hole in glass looks clean and the arrow is about 1/4" thick with an iron target point. I have talked to enginners a while back about this trying to determine the arrow's velocity etc. with no success.

I am glad Jack mentioned the BB shots through glass. It means if the hit is clean (as pointed out by Murat), the arrow can do it too.

And of course, it depends on the glass. Much blown glass gains ernormous internal stress as it cools and would certainly shatter however cleverly you hit it.
