GREETINGS FROM GREECE

Post by treemarks » Sun Dec 18, 2005 6:02 pm

A warm hallo from Greece to All of you !

We are a small group of horseback archers just starting to train with Kassai bows and techniques.

Some of us are more advanced and most are begginers either in archery or horsemanship, but we enjoy so much the combination of the harmony and nobility of the horse with the great spiritual awareness of archery.

We hope to share more news and photos with you in the near future.

Wishing to All the Merriest of Christmas !

Markos,
It is great to see that the Byzantine art of horse archery is being revived. Has anyone been studying mediaeval Greek texts for descriptions of archery?

Hi Bede,

there's one in our team who has been working on a Horseback archery book/manual, so he might have references of this era.
I will see in what way he could provide you with info on the subject.

GREETINGS FROM GREECE

Post by redhawk » Mon Dec 19, 2005 7:51 am

hi,

coincidentally I?m just on my way to make a number of replica of grecian bows, shields and helmets. The first bow, rebuilt from a picture showing the Goddess Artemis drawing her bow at full length (400 B.C.) will be ready to shoot this week.I?ll post the pics soon.

Treemarks, what infos do you have about the old grecian bowery and archery?
