why the korean archer incline hold the bow ?

when the bow incline(acclivitous,gradient) hold the bow , the right hand not follow the angle of the bow acclivitous angle, so , at this time, the bow string not a straight line (it has a turning point)

i guess some things use traditional bow , some time the arrows shoot out not a straight line when the arrow aiming line, it is more left or right, can i take the reason is the handle is wide not like modern bow has a window, the archer twist wrist so the bow limb also twist, like shoot a pellet bow ?

My personal experience: inclining the bow as in the pictures above does not help the shot, but it does make it easier to see the target, which is very far away (140 metres).

Actually, I see Koreans both cant and not cant their bows. Personally, I was taught to slightly cant towards the arrow side.

"Canting" the bow is often recommended as an aid to aiming.

In "INSTINCTIVE SHOOTING II", 1993, G.Fred Asbell advises that when the bow is canted, the drawing hand should be canted to the same direction and at same angle (page 54) and the head canted likewise.

He was not discussing using the thumb-ring draw.

i want to use skb try the korean archery. but need some help

when the bow canted and right hand not canted to the same direction , i am sure the bow lamb and the siyahs will be twist , if often shoot it will break the bow?

i am want to add two small wood or horn ball on bow string, shoot a light arrow, the ball wiil let the strings heavy , so it wil let the strings more fast when shooting? the heavy strings+light arrow= more fast shoot? or the bow strings hit the siyahs smashing? a dangerous action?

Jiao,
Putting any weight on the string would slow the arrow and retain more energy in the bow, putting it under more stress than it was designed for.

When you cant the bow to one side, your drawing hand should maintain the same angle to the bow as it would when the bow is upright. You place a very small pressure on the nock of the arrow to keep the arrow against the side of the bow. This pressure should only be enough to hold the arrow in place, not enough to cause the arrow to bend even a little bit.

Does that mean canted to the same side the bow is canted, and at the same angle;

or does it mean keep the drawing hand upright?

What I meant was that if you cant the bow 5 degrees, you should cant the drawing hand 5 degrees in the same direction. I am referring to the rotational motion of the wrists on both hands.

Hehehe, that's my son (taken a few years ago). I'm not exactly sure what you are meaning by straight line; the string is parallel with the bow, but not perpendicular to the ground. Some of what you see might be from the angle I took the photo.
